Hey there,
My name is Grace Jacobs. I am a licensed psychotherapist (LICSW) in the state of Washington. I currently focus my practice on serving individual adults using strengths-based evidence-based treatment approaches. I do my best to meet the unique needs of each person I work with. I aim to be collaborative in my approach. I see my role as a supportive coach and guide.
I believe therapy should be a normal part of life and accessible to all. We all experience challenges and need help from time to time. Taking care of our mental health is just as important as taking care of our physical health.
Live your values
I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients suffer less and find peace with their thoughts and emotions. This approach combines mindfulness with cognitive behavioral therapy. It also helps clients live by their values to build a meaningful life. Learn more here.
Heal the past
I use EMDR therapy to help people feel better about their lives and resolve troubling memories from the past. This could be to core negative beliefs, regret, or any memory or period in life which still brings up anger, fear, self-blame, or anxiety. Learn more here.
Find love and improve relationships
I enjoy working with individuals to understand patterns and improve dynamics in their dating patterns and romantic relationships. am guided by attachment-informed therapies.
Be mindful
I recently completed a 2-year meditation teacher training program in the insight meditation tradition led by Jack Kornfield PhD and Tara Brach PhD. I find mindfulness concepts helpful to incorporate into therapy sessions. I also like to lead guided meditations.
Express yourself
I find a lot of value in creative expression and exploring thoughts in feelings in alternative ways. I completed a 9-month certificate in Expressive Arts Therapy at NWCEAI. I don’t typically use creative arts in my therapy sessions but I love facilitating expressive-arts-based workshops.
