  • Most of our providers are in network with most major insurance companies and several EAP companies. See each therapist’s page in the “our team” section for more details.

Please note, that couples therapy is usually not covered by insurance. Please see our FAQ on couples therapy for more information.

We will also provide you with more details about how you can check your benefits with your insurance company after you schedule your first appointment.

Please reach out to us if you need help figuring out if the provider you want to work with is in-network with your plan,

  • We are in-network with most insurance plans. If your provider happens to be out-of-network with your insurance plan we can offer two options, superbills or using Thrizer

For out-of-network claims, we charge the full session rate following your appointment, which is currently $170 for all Reflect therapists. Please inquire about a sliding-scale if needed. After you are charged for the session, we can provide you with a special invoice called a “superbill” which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement if you have out-of-network coverage.

Alternatively, we partner with Thrizer which lets you use your out-of-network benefits without paying the full session rate upfront. Please contact us for more details.

We encourage you to contact your insurance to learn about what your out-of-network benefits are.

  • We require all new clients to put a credit card on file for billing, even if you are using insurance. After your appointment, we will submit a claim to your insurance company. Once the claim is processed, if your insurance shows a balance due that they indicate is your responsibility (such as a copay) You will receive an invoice in email and your card on file will be billed for the amount due. We also use your card on file to charge missed appointment fees and late cancellation fees.

Please let us know if you need to make a payment plan or need more control over when your card gets charged. We are happy to work with you!

If you have an HSA or FSA account, you can use that card as your default card on file but you also need to provide an alternative credit or debit card to cover late cancellation fees.

  • Click the request appointment button above. Someone on our team will reach out to you soon to follow up with you.

  • Yes! We are excited to announce that we are now offering couples therapy.

For couples/relationship clients, while we would love for you to be able to utilize your insurance benefits, the reality is that health insurance rarely covers relationship therapy, regardless of how great your plan is or even what your insurance company may have told you. This is the same whether or not the therapist is in-network or out-of-network. We know that this is often surprising and unwelcomed news so we ask that you please take a few minutes to read the explanation below so that you can make informed decisions about your care.

If your insurance company tells you that they do indeed cover couples counseling, they are referring to the following scenario: one person's mental illness is what is being treated in session, and the partner is only present for those sessions to support that person's treatment of that mental illness. When health insurance is utilized for therapy, the insurance company will only cover mental illnesses.

The challenge is this: couples do not enter couples therapy to work on one person's mental illness. They instead seek relationship counseling for help with communication, conflict, emotional connection, sex/intimacy, parenting, trust, and all sorts of other important reasons to seek help from a relationship counselor. But this focus of therapy is not for a "medically necessary" mental illness, and thus the scenario described above does not apply, given that health insurance only pays for treatment of diagnosable mental illness. Additionally, the couple as a unit is the focus of therapy, and so billing insurance as if the couple's sessions are treating just one individual is considered insurance fraud.

This is a frustrating reality for both clients and for therapists. We would love for couples to be able to utilize their insurance benefits for relationship help, but we are forced to adhere to the very strict rules around what is covered and what isn't. And we need to be careful because breaking these rules really can be insurance fraud.

We know that relationship therapy is not inexpensive - that it's an investment. And we do everything we can to help you to get the most out of your investment. Our standard rate for therapy sessions is $170 per 50-minute appointment, which is about average for this area and for the advanced training our therapists have. If this is a hardship for you, and you will be seeing an associate-level therapist, please inquire about our sliding scale options.

We can provide you with a superbill and add you to our Thrizer account if you would like to try to receive reimbursement from your insurance company. Please note that our therapists will be using a Z code diagnosis such as Z63.0 ICD-10-CM Code for “Problems in relationship with spouse or partner”. This does not usually meet the criteria for medical necessity that most insurance companies use to provide reimbursement, even for out-of-network coverage.

  • This varies from person to person. Your therapist will collaborate with you to determine a frequency that will be effective in meeting your goals and will work for your schedule and budget.

  • Our sessions are 53 minutes. Please help us end on time so your therapist has at least 5 minutes to rest and get ready for their next appointment

  • Our cancellation policy requires 48 hours’ notice. We understand things come up. We respectfully request that you please cancel as early as is reasonably foreseeable. We aim to meet the needs of our other clients who are waiting to get in, and it can be challenging with only a day or two’s notice.

Your appointment time is held exclusively for you. We charge a $125 late cancellation/ missed appointment fee because with such little notice, we are unlikely to be able to fill your spot.

  • Unfortunately, our therapists are only licensed in Washington state. Where you are located at the time of your appointment is considered the “place of service”, not your home address or state of residence. For this reason, when you are out of state or out of the country, we are unable to see you for therapy because we would be working in a jurisdiction in which we are not licensed to practice therapy. We can see you again when you return to Washington state.

  • The most secure and preferred way to communicate with your therapist is through our client portal.

You should receive a welcome email when you initiate services with us that includes your therapist's direct work email and work phone number.

We will ask you to sign a consent to allow us to text you about scheduling and appointment reminders, but SMS texting is not secure or HIPPA compliant and should not be used to communicate about clinical issues. If, for example, you are running late to your appointment or are having trouble finding us or getting into the building, feel free to call or text your therapist if you feel comfortable doing so.

We do not offer text therapy or email therapy. If you need to reach out to us please feel free, but also use discretion. If you send a long message, your therapist may wait to read it and go over it with you in your next appointment.

  • Unfortunately, no.

We require a credit card on file even for initial consultations because, although consultations are free, we have had challenges with no-shows. Because of this we now charge a $20 fee if you book a free consultation but do not attend.

The exception is for Medicaid/Apple Health clients through Coordinated Care. If you have an Apple Health plan though Coordinated care and would like to schedule with us, you are not required to put a card on file and will never be charged any fees. Please contact us directly to schedule.
